Tandem paragliding: everything you need to know before taking off in Chamonix
Planning your first paragliding flight in Chamonix? Here are our practical tips to help you prepare for your experience and set off with confidence.

What is a tandem paragliding experience?
A tandem paragliding experience allows you to discover the sensations of free flight alongside a state-certified instructor. It is the flight closest to that of a bird. After a short take-off run, seated comfortably in tandem with your pilot, you need no prior experience whatsoever — the professional takes care of everything, right through to landing, while you soak in the exceptional panorama over the Mont Blanc massif.
What are the requirements?
The tandem paragliding experience is accessible to almost everyone. Being in good general physical condition is recommended. Children from age 4 and seniors can take part in this activity. The maximum accepted weight is 110 kg. If in doubt, don't hesitate to contact us to assess your situation.
What should you wear for your flight?
Opt for warm, comfortable clothing — even in summer: at altitude, temperatures can be cool. Sports shoes are recommended for take-off and landing. Avoid skirts, dresses or overly loose clothing that could interfere with the harness. Remember to protect your eyes with sunglasses.
How does the flight work?
You will meet your instructor at the foot of the ski lifts. Plan to arrive early to buy your one-way ticket. You will then take the lifts with your pilot — a great opportunity to get acquainted and prepare for your paragliding flight. Three minutes' walk and you are at the take-off. Your instructor then sets up the tandem paraglider. After fitting and securing your harness, they will give you a brief before take-off. Nothing difficult, but we do need your attention and active help during this take-off phase. During the run-up, you will feel increasingly "light", carried by the paraglider. You will have the sensation of being lifted… a few more strides and you are in the air. Take-off is a gentle, magical moment. You then settle comfortably into your harness. You will make the most of the flight chatting with your instructor. They are there to put you at ease and build your confidence so you can fully live this wonderful experience! We land near the town centre, not far from our meeting point.
The flight lasts approximately 20 minutes for Planpraz and Plan de l'Aiguille.
The whole activity takes approximately one to one and a half hours.
Can you take photos or videos during the flight?
Absolutely! We offer photo and video options to capture your experience from the air — with an on-board HD GoPro camera and a telescopic pole. You are filmed in the foreground with all the scenery behind you. It is truly stunning.
You can also bring your own camera, provided it is properly secured.
