Frequently asked questions
Why paraglide in Chamonix?
Flying is wonderful. Flying in this panorama is truly exceptional — one of the most beautiful paragliding sites in the world.
The in-flight views are breathtakingly beautiful.
There is something for everyone! Children, adults, seniors, athletes, thrill-seekers, adrenaline hunters, or simply those looking to enjoy the flight closest to nature and the view: a timeless moment, calm and contemplative.
We never run out of reasons to fly in Chamonix.
Take-off and access to the launch site are easy.
What is the weight limit?
Depending on the site chosen and the conditions, weight matters.
For Planpraz and Plan de l'Aiguille, we can fly passengers under 45 kg and over 90 kg if informed in advance. We will choose a suitable time slot.
For high-altitude and long-distance flights, it is preferable to weigh less than 90 kg, with exceptions.
Flights with our female champions are limited to 85 kg
The maximum authorised weight is 120 kg fully dressed — the certification limit for our harnesses and insurance.
Weight is not the only factor — we also take the passenger's fitness level into account. For example, it is quite manageable to take off with a 110 kg rugby player at Planpraz.
I'm afraid of heights — can I still fly?
We take up people who say they suffer from vertigo every single day. But in paragliding, when you are not connected to the ground, you don't experience it at all. The question we ask our passengers is: do you feel comfortable on a plane? If yes, you will be perfectly fine in the air and will not feel any vertigo.
Moreover, you don't jump off a cliff in paragliding — you take off by walking briskly down a gentle slope and feel yourself being lifted up. You never feel like you are falling.
So book even if you have a fear of heights!
How will I receive my photos and videos?
On request, your instructor takes videos and photos during the flight with an HD GoPro camera on a telescopic pole.
You are featured in the foreground of the video with the landscapes appearing behind you.
It is truly worth it — the footage is fantastic.
At the end of the flight, everything can be transferred to your phone via cable.
Don't forget to bring your phone and free up some space — it can take up to 8GB.
No phone, or not enough space? Your instructor will give you an SD card with your images.
